Mercom Releases Veri-Scribe™ Portable Digital Recorder
Mercom enters new market with Veri-Scribe, which is designed to be used in legal, law enforcement, business, and government venues
Lyndhurst, NJ, July 12, 2004 -- Mercom Systems, Inc. (www.mercom.com), a leading provider of multimedia recording and agent evaluation tools for contact centers, today announced the release of Veri-Scribe™, an advanced digital recording system for use in courtrooms, hearing rooms, and business meetings. Marking the successful completion of several months of beta testing and limited pre-release installations, Veri-Scribe’s release signals the beginning of a new chapter for Mercom. Veri-Scribe is available immediately through authorized Mercom resellers.
“Veri-Scribe is ideal for the legal and law enforcement profession, where portable recording sessions need to take place,” stated Bob Jagendorf, Director of Marketing and Sales at Mercom. “Be it a deposition, a hearing, or any type of audio testimony, Veri-Scribe provides the ease of use and portability needed in this type of application.”
Mercom’s Audiolog Technology Platform Extends Into New Portable Applications
Built on Mercom’s award winning Audiolog™ technology, Veri-Scribe can be used on a laptop/PC to record multiple audio channels, for connecting microphones, external mixers, and other audio sources. Playback of recordings is controlled with keyboard, mouse, and foot pedals. Any combination of the channels recorded can be played back. Veri-Scribe enables extensive recording storage on the host system’s hard drive for immediate online access, and various users can be given authorization to access selected recordings.
Veri-Scribe’s Annotator allows users to add notes and attachments that are time-synchronized with the audio recording, access stock phrases with hot keys, attach documents, images and drawings to the timeline, and quickly search for and play back important elements of the recording. Other features include live monitoring and testing, backup of recordings, a variety of compression rates to conserve storage, time stamps and indexes for logging notes, and the ability to make copies of recordings for email or storage on a CD-ROM.
Veri-Scribe is an ideal way to digitally record court and hearing room proceedings, depositions, law enforcement interviews, meetings, conferences, and more. In addition, it features compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which requires that Federal agencies' electronic and information technology be accessible to people with disabilities.
