Comprehensive Upgrade Handles Largest, Most Demanding, and Most Technologically Advanced CRM Environments

Lyndhurst, NJ – February 12, 2002 – Mercom Systems, Inc. (www.mercom.com), a leading provider of computer telephony solutions for CRM and related markets, today announced version 3.0 of its Audiolog™ recording server, offering significantly increased database capacity, VoIP recording capability, increased redundancy, more file compression options, and hardware integration features to enhance its usefulness in CRM applications.

An award-winning PC-based open-architecture system for call recording, cataloging and archiving, Mercom’s Audiolog 3.0 recording server is now based on the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system, for maximum operational reliability as well as enhanced capability with leading-edge enterprises.

"Version 3.0 is the most comprehensive update of the Audiolog Recording Server that we have had since the product was originally introduced," noted Bob Jagendorf, Mercom’s Director of Marketing. "For those in the financial, insurance, telemarketing or public safety fields, Audiolog will be in an ever better position to help manage the most important aspect of CRM — telephone contact."

New Audiolog Version 3.0 Significantly Increases Database Storage

With version 3.0, the Audiolog system’s Catalog of recorded calls utilizes a Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 database. Audiolog 3.0 users whose requirements include storing extended quantities of calls on-line can now do so. This new capacity also extends to any files that have been uploaded to devices such as Network Attached Storage (NAS), RAID, SAN, or similar network-accessed storage systems.

VoIP

Voice Over IP (VoIP) recording is another enhancement in Audiolog version 3.0 that will immediately prove valuable to leading-edge users. Audiolog 3.0 provides compatibility with Cisco IPCC environments that are equipped with Cisco CallManager and Cisco ICM Server.

Redundancy

Audiolog receives data from a PBX through the PBX’s CTI server. With version 3.0, the Audiolog system can receive input from redundant CTI severs, so that the failure of an individual CTI server is not catastrophic, enhancing the maintainability and manageability of large installations.

Hardware Integration

An example of the many integration features added to version 3.0 is the ability to use the "D-channel" to control recording of digital PBX telephones for increased reliability in full-time recording environments.

Selective Compression

Audiolog 3.0 offers software-based compression for special applications, to minimize storage and network bandwidth requirements. Aggressive compression is performed after recording but before archiving or uploading, using any of several compression algorithms selected by the user based on trade-offs between file size and recording quality.
